Presentation of Carlo Silini’s new book: Farabutti e sventurate. Vite sbilenche a sud delle Alpi
18:30
A fascinating and unsettling journey into the shadowy realms of the territories south of the Alps, where history, legend, magic and current affairs intertwine until they become indistinguishable. From magical seducers and femmes fatales avant la lettre to heresy hunters and women who were too free-spirited for their times; from borderland outlaws and imprisoned visionaries to charlatans and honest healers, wandering souls and the living who seek to contact them in séances, plague spreaders and plague victims, cynical generals and wartime lies, sexist preachers and erudite esotericists, Carlo Silini assembles a gallery of “crooked” lives that span the centuries and speak to contemporary obsessions.
The author will be in conversation with Nicoletta Mongini, Director of Culture at the Monte Verità Foundation.
Free admission.
