Nuoro and Monte Verità, two magnetic places rich in history. Two symbolic islands, two borderlands and, at the same time, spaces of belonging. This is the double scenario of the artistic residency project carried out in 2023, which is the result of the collaboration between the MAN Museum and the Monte Verità Foundation in Ascona, Switzerland. On an imaginary geographical line that runs from the North to the Mediterranean, from Lake Maggiore to Sardinia, this cultural exchange invites the artists to reflect on common themes: the experience of the journeyand isolation, the great wild and lush beauty of nature, the deep breath of the woods with its archaic memory and Edenic innocence.

In these places, stories of lives reduced to their essence intertwined with primal forms of spiritualism and self-sufficiency. To be reread today in the topical nature with the lens of a critical thought that discusses the ecology of the soul and its interaction with living space.

The project has led to an exhibition at the MAN Museum in Nuoro (06.10 - 12.11.2023). Monte Verità is now presenting a selection of works by six artists, displayed at the Hotel Bauhaus and in the air-light huts until June 30th. The works of Le Montagne Incantate – Die Zauberberge are also featured in the exhibition la scia del monte ou les utopistes magnétique, currently on display at the Musée des Beaux Arts Le Locle (23.03 - 15.09.2024).
